Overview

As an Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite, you'll receive comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. The role involves hands-on learning and classroom education to gain the necessary skills for performing glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations. You'll be expected to deliver exceptional customer service and uphold high quality standards during your training period.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and complete diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and use company-issued tools

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35-50 pounds
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to safely work outside in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
