Overview

The Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite will receive training to become a proficient auto glass technician. The role includes hands-on and classroom training, where the trainee will learn to install and repair auto glass, recalibrate automotive safety systems, and ensure high-quality service to customers. Upon completion, the trainee will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and be expected to promote customer satisfaction effortlessly.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products to customers
  • Study and pass testing to become a certified Technician
  • Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and chemicals
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • Fundamental knowledge of automotive repair and glass installation
  • Experience with diagnostic testing and troubleshooting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in tight spaces
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely
  • Strong customer service orientation and professional appearance
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
