Overview

The Installation Technician Trainee position at Safelite provides an opportunity to learn and develop skills as an auto glass technician. Trainees will undergo hands-on and classroom training to gain the necessary skills for glass repair and installation, culminating in the Safelite SafeTech certification. The role emphasizes a customer-centric approach and a commitment to quality work.

Key responsibilities

  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and complete diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products to customers
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles and utilize company-issued tools
  • Comply with all policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Capability to work in various weather conditions
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and provide outstanding customer service
