Overview

The Installation Technician Trainee position at Safelite is designed for individuals seeking to build a career in auto glass repair and installation. Trainees will undergo hands-on and classroom training to become proficient technicians, ultimately achieving Safelite SafeTech certification. The role emphasizes customer service, quality work, and a positive attitude in delivering timely solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through training
  • Assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Provide additional services and products to customers
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles along with necessary tools and chemicals
  • Comply with all company policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
