Overview

Safelite is seeking an Installation Technician Trainee in Johnston, Rhode Island to undergo training and education to become a proficient auto glass technician. The role focuses on developing skills for glass repair and replacement, along with automotive safety system recalibrations, all while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in hands-on and classroom training to learn the Safelite method
  • Assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass tests to achieve Safelite certification
  • Operate company vehicles and use company-issued tools and chemicals safely
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Capability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication skills in English
