Overview

The Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite will undergo hands-on training and education to become a skilled auto glass technician. This role focuses on glass repair, replacement, and recalibrating automotive safety systems. Trainees are encouraged to embody a positive, customer-focused attitude while adhering to high-quality service standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom training
  • Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing
  • Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, tools and chemicals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Comply with company policies and standards

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic tools
