Overview

The Installation Technician at Safelite plays a key role in providing auto glass repair, replacement services, and recalibrations in both shop and mobile settings. This hands-on position emphasizes safety, quality, and exceptional customer service while utilizing industry-leading tools and technology. The role also requires effective communication with customers and adherence to company standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide vehicle glass repair and replacement services efficiently and safely at shop or mobile locations.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic testing.
  • Operate Safelite's tools and technologies proficiently.
  • Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and phone, promoting Safelite services.
  • Clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Safelite SafeTech certification required.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools.
