Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Property Adjuster at USAA, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims for members in a hybrid work environment. This role requires effective communication and empathy as you work with members experiencing significant life events, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage assigned caseload of moderate complexity claims.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal partners for claims resolution.
  • Conduct research to evaluate claim damages.
  • Identify and resolve coverage concerns and potential discrepancies.
  • Negotiate settlements for moderate complexity claims.
  • Maintain accurate claim file documentation.
  • Utilize estimating technology platforms for claims management.
  • Serve as an informal resource for team members.
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 2 years of property adjusting or claims adjusting experience.
  • Knowledge of residential construction.
  • Experience using estimating platforms like Xactimate.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of property claims contracts and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Adjuster License within 90 days of employment.
