Job Description

Overview

Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corp. is looking for an Inside Sales / Proposal Manager to support the sales and execution of engineered fuel oil systems. This role combines technical engineering knowledge with commercial sales to create competitive proposals while fostering customer relationships and coordinating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of detailed technical and commercial proposals for fuel oil systems
  • Review RFQs, specifications, and drawings to define scope and risks
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams for accurate costing
  • Manage multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the pre-sale process
  • Respond to customer inquiries and track opportunities through the sales pipeline
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and control diagrams
  • Collaborate with engineering to validate system designs and configurations
  • Identify potential technical or commercial risks early in the process
  • Help standardize proposal templates, costing tools, and workflows

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in inside sales, applications engineering, or proposal management for industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of fuel oil systems and similar fluid handling equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities
  • Experience with diesel fuel systems or emergency power applications (preferred)
  • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems (preferred)
  • Background in mechanical or electrical engineering (degree or equivalent experience preferred)
