Job Description

Overview

As an Inside Property Adjuster at USAA, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle low to moderate complexity property insurance claims, all while adhering to state regulatory requirements. This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence three days a week, and focuses on providing exceptional service to USAA's military community and their families.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage assigned claims caseload of low to moderate complexity.
  • Collaborate with vendors and business partners for claims resolution.
  • Investigate claim damages through research and analysis.
  • Identify coverage concerns and make appropriate referrals.
  • Negotiate claims settlements and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of estimating technology to prepare claims estimates.
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations.
  • Handle various types of claims, including higher complexity ones.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 1 year of customer service or insurance experience
  • Knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, and communication skills
  • Understanding of claims contracts and state laws
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task through various applications
  • Travel up to 25% and work catastrophe duty if needed
  • Active P&C Adjuster license within 90 days
