Job Description

Overview

As an Injury Examiner at USAA, you will be responsible for adjusting complex auto and homeowner bodily injury claims while ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. This role requires delivering exceptional member service and managing a claims workload effectively, all within a remote-friendly environment with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Adjust complex auto bodily injury claims and small business claims.
  • Investigate loss details and determine legal liability.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and adjudicate claims in a timely manner.
  • Manage assigned claims workload and provide status updates to members.
  • Collaborate with team members and internal partners for claims resolution.
  • Deliver best-in-class member service through proactive communication.
  • Ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 4 years auto claims and injury adjusting experience
  • Advanced negotiation and investigation skills
  • Strong time-management and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology related to bodily injury
  • Ability to exercise sound financial judgment in handling claims
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license
