Job Description

Overview

As an Injury Adjuster at USAA, you will be responsible for adjusting non-attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury claims while ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations. You will provide exceptional member service through effective communication and support, all within a hybrid work environment requiring three days in the office each week.

Key responsibilities

  • Adjust non-attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury claims
  • Confirm coverage and determine liability for claims
  • Investigate loss details and evaluate claims for settlement
  • Negotiate and arrive at claim settlements within authority guidelines
  • Document investigation and negotiation processes clearly
  • Provide advice and set expectations for members
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve issues
  • Partner with vendors and internal partners for claims resolution
  • Support workload surges and Catastrophe Operations as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of injury adjusting or auto liability adjusting experience
  • Knowledge of auto claims contracts and state laws
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license
  • 2+ years of Auto Liability/Casualty adjusting experience (preferred)
  • 1 year of auto physical damage or total loss experience (preferred)
  • Ongoing Professional Development in Insurance (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (preferred)
  • US military experience or family connection (preferred)
