Overview

GBI Services d'ingénierie is seeking a Civil Engineer for their Quebec office to lead infrastructure projects for various clients, including government ministries and municipalities. The role involves designing networks and ensuring compliance with construction standards while contributing to a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Determine client needs and estimate project costs for civil infrastructure
  • Obtain project inputs such as existing plans, regulations, and studies
  • Design water supply, sewer, and roadway networks
  • Perform hydraulic calculations
  • Coordinate the implementation of urban technical network works
  • Produce and interpret plans and specifications
  • Estimate quantities and project costs
  • Prepare applications for municipal permits and ministerial authorizations
  • Plan and control civil engineering works
  • Ensure compliance with construction works

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Master's degree is a plus)
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in infrastructure (sewers, water, urban technical networks)
  • Knowledge of optimal stormwater management practices
  • Familiarity with drainage modeling software (SWMM) and water distribution (EPANET)
  • Knowledge of regulations concerning water supply and sewer networks
  • Ability to travel to project sites
  • Teamwork skills
  • Comfortable in a hybrid teleworking environment
