Job Description

Overview

MA-TH inc. is seeking a passionate and experienced senior structural engineer to join their team in Montréal, Quebec. In this role, you will be key in the design, supervision, and execution of various projects, ranging from commercial and industrial buildings to complex infrastructures, while ensuring quality and code compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and size structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and wood according to relevant codes and regulations
  • Supervise the production of plans, sign them, and ensure they are sealed
  • Manage and coordinate small, medium and large-scale structural engineering projects
  • Conduct surveys and inspections on existing structures
  • Mentor and train junior engineers to support their professional development
  • Draft technical reports and participate in site meetings to ensure project follow-up

Required skills

  • Degree in civil engineering (specialization in structure) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with notable experience in engineering consulting
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Proficiency in structural design software (SAP, ETABS, SAFE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of applicable construction standards and codes (CNBC, CSA, Code du Québec)
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written); proficiency in English is a significant asset
