Job Description

Overview

GE Vernova is a global energy company specializing in the energy transition, including hydropower solutions. The Electrical Engineer for Speed Governors will be responsible for designing and coordinating electrical systems for hydro speed governors, providing technical support for supply chain, construction, and commissioning activities related to hydro generators.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and understand customer specifications to generate inputs for design team and deliverables.
  • Deliver work packages using technical guidelines, lead design reviews, and implement feedback.
  • Produce schematics, technical specifications, testing procedures, and required documentation.
  • Supervise draftsmen for the creation of project drawings.
  • Supervise and support suppliers/sub-contractors.
  • Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs without supervision.
  • Collaborate with project management team as needed.
  • Support supply chain for project purchase and new supplier development.
  • Evaluate and act on non-conformity reports.
  • Provide site support for commissioning and erection.
  • Organize and participate in design reviews.
  • Provide support on tendering activities.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Collaborate with consulting engineers for feedback of experience, design validation, and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in meetings with customers and suppliers for document approval and discussions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical design and P&ID interpretation
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (control loops, actuators, sensors, signals)
  • Knowledge of control panel design, wiring diagrams, and layout
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and focused on results
  • Ability to work in a global team environment
