Job Description

Overview

GE Vernova is a global energy company focused on electrification and leading the energy transition. As an Electrical Engineer specializing in speed governors for hydropower, you will be involved in the design, technical support, and project management for hydroelectric power plants, contributing to a more sustainable planet.

Key responsibilities

  • Read and understand customer specifications for design inputs and deliverables.
  • Deliver work packages using technical guidelines and lead design reviews.
  • Produce schematics, technical specifications, and documentation required for projects.
  • Supervise draftsmen and support suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, and drawings independently.
  • Collaborate with project management and support supply chain activities.
  • Evaluate and act on non-conformities reports.
  • Provide on-site support during commissioning and erection.
  • Organize and participate in design reviews and tendering activities.
  • Perform site surveys and collaborate with consultants for design validations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Membership in OIQ
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of electrical design and P&ID interpretation
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (control loops, actuators, sensors, signals)
  • Experience in control panel design and wiring diagrams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a global team environment
  • Proactive and organized with good problem-solving skills
