Overview

The Information Security Analyst position at Western Farmers Electric Cooperative involves performing troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance on electronic access control and monitoring systems. The role ensures the stability and integrity of these systems while participating in various teams to uphold security measures and respond to incidents effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance on electronic access control and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure the stability and integrity of in-house electronic access control and monitoring systems.
  • Engage in change management and configuration activities.
  • Conduct security controls testing, vulnerability testing, and network traffic analysis.
  • Monitor and respond to anomalous events for operational security.
  • Review logs, configurations, and user accounts for adherence to policy.
  • Participate in incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Write reports and briefings related to information security issues.
  • Conduct research on information security developments and best practices.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5 years of experience in information security or a related field
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and Cisco routing and switching
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewall and VPN appliances
  • Familiarity with SEIM devices, IDS sensors, IPS, and other security tools
