Job Description

Overview

The Infant Teacher at North Bay Children is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for infants and toddlers in a nurturing and safe environment. This full-time role requires collaboration with a teaching team to meet the developmental needs of children while adhering to best practices in early childhood education.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and implement diverse, age-appropriate activities for infants and toddlers.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Engage in regular self-assessment and participate in performance evaluations.
  • Conduct ongoing Desired Results Developmental Assessments (DRDP) on children.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents through open communication.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement specific child behavior plans.
  • Supervise children in accordance with California State Licensing regulations.
  • Attend scheduled staff development days and meetings.

Required skills

  • 5 years experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • 12 ECE units including 6 in Infant/Toddler Development
  • CTC Teacher Permit (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing and California Department of Education requirements
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Bilingual Spanish (preferred but not required)
