Job Description

Overview

The Industrial Plumbing Steamfitter at GE Vernova will support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of systems related to robotics, steam, and HVAC. The role involves extensive hands-on work with the installation and repair of plumbing systems in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate the condition of hydraulic, steam, and HVAC equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Install and repair pipes, fixtures, and valves for various systems
  • Collaborate with contractors and other trades in plumbing projects
  • Test plumbing systems for leaks and performance issues
  • Document problems and actions taken using a CMMS

Required skills

  • Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology AAS degree
  • HVAC or Construction & Maintenance AOS degree
  • Military Training in a related field
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
  • 3 years of commercial HVAC service and installation experience
  • Completion of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program
  • Journeyman Steamfitter License
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
  • Safety knowledge related to schematics and precision measurement
