Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright for their facility in Surrey, BC. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of mechanical systems essential for production within the company's specialized portfolio, which includes animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial products, and more.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and correct problems in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production.
  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul plant production equipment, as well as building and grounds.
  • Respond quickly to trouble calls from shift supervisors or operators/technicians.
  • Assist Operating Engineers in the maintenance of plant utilities.
  • Perform weekly preventive maintenance walkthroughs, inspections, and repairs on production equipment.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of shift logs and maintenance inspections.
  • Participate collaboratively in process improvement teams and support project work.
  • Communicate efficiently with other team members during shift changes.

Required skills

  • Red Seal Millwright certification
  • Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
  • Preventive maintenance experience
  • Ability to work physically demanding duties
  • Experience with rigging systems, gearbox maintenance, lubrication, pumps, and piping systems
  • Basic computer skills
  • English communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Forklift experience (preferred)
  • Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience in production-related work (preferred)
