Overview

West Fraser is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Technician in Orange Park, Florida. The role involves operating and maintaining planer machines, performing critical measurements, and ensuring the quality finish of lumber products while adhering to safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and lockout procedures
  • Perform critical measurements using a caliper
  • Set, monitor, and maintain planer machines
  • Conduct minor repairs and all preventive maintenance
  • Take responsibility for major repairs with assistance from the maintenance department
  • Ensure a constant lumber flow through the planer
  • Keep machine set to proper tolerances
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs of machines
  • Change knives and perform routine maintenance and lubrication
  • Maintain housekeeping as assigned by the supervisor
  • Assist with maintenance repairs to other machines as directed
