Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician role at West Fraser in Jacksonville involves performing preventive maintenance on planer machines and ensuring quality production of lumber. The technician will be responsible for minor repairs, assisting with major repairs, and maintaining equipment according to safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and safety rules.
  • Perform critical measurements using a caliper.
  • Set up, monitor, and maintain the planer machine.
  • Feed the planer and ensure a constant flow of lumber.
  • Keep the machine set to proper tolerances.
  • Assist maintenance on major repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and lubrication.
  • Change knives and maintain a quality finish of the product.
  • Conduct housekeeping as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete West Fraser Qualified Millwright training and competency checklist.
