Overview

The Industrial Equipment Technician at West Fraser will be responsible for operating and maintaining planer machines, ensuring a consistent flow of lumber and performing both minor and preventive maintenance tasks. The role requires familiarity with safety procedures, personal protective equipment, and the operation of hand tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Feed the planer and ensure constant lumber flow
  • Maintain proper setup and operation of the planer
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on machines
  • Change knives and assist maintenance with major repairs
  • Complete West Fraser Qualified Millwright training
  • Conduct duties of millwright work throughout the mill
  • Follow housekeeping procedures as assigned
