Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist in Industrial Engineering to join their Operations Engineering team in Waterdown, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving process improvements, supporting facility planning, and contributing to various initiatives that focus on enhancing operational efficiency while aligning with the company's goals for national security and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing models for various product families.
  • Analyze equipment capacity, cycle times, and labor requirements.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing layouts for improved space utilization and flow.
  • Lead and maintain the e3 Project Pipeline; track progress and ensure alignment with targets.
  • Support in-country assembly initiatives including tooling deployment and training coordination.
  • Conduct time studies and production capacity assessments to generate improvement metrics.
  • Recommend process changes to optimize utilization of resources.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting for compliance with standards like AS9100.

Required skills

  • University degree in Engineering or college diploma in Engineering Technology
  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and layout design software
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, MRPII, Kanban, JIT manufacturing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and complex problem solving abilities
  • Active listening and negotiation skills
  • Proactive and resourceful mindset
