Job Description

Overview

WestRock is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment at their corrugated packaging plant in Camillus, NY. The role focuses on ensuring plant machinery runs at peak performance while prioritizing safety and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical components on large-scale production machinery
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in complex machinery
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety policies
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve operational issues
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in manufacturing
  • Experience with 480V three-phase systems and various control voltages
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and programming skills for PLCs and VFDs
  • Valid Electrical license or equivalent certification
  • Excellent safety awareness and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
