Job Description

Overview

As an Industrial Electrician at WestRock's corrugated packaging plant, you will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and automation systems to ensure optimal equipment performance. This position requires collaboration with maintenance leadership, operators, and vendors to achieve production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for electrical and automation controls
  • Review plant metrics and equipment data for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Perform emergency breakdown maintenance as necessary
  • Engage in preventive maintenance activities
  • Assist in mentoring and training automation technicians
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment as needed

Required skills

  • Strong understanding of PLC, VFD, and HMI/OIT software
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical controls systems and mechanical drives
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, and controls networks
  • Strong CMMS knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and JDE or similar software
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Experience in high-volume, no redundancy manufacturing environments
