Job Description

Overview

As an Industrial Electrician at WestRock's corrugated packaging plant, you will play a critical role in maintaining equipment and ensuring operational excellence. This position involves troubleshooting electrical and automation controls to maximize uptime while adhering to safety protocols and working closely with maintenance leadership and operators.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow safety rules and practices
  • Provide electrical and automation controls troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Review key plant metrics and equipment data to identify improvement areas
  • Perform emergency breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Provide leadership and training to other technicians

Required skills

  • Strong understanding of PLC, VFD, and HMI/OIT software
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical controls systems
  • Experience with mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, PC's, and robotics
  • Strong CMMS knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and JDE or similar software
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
