Job Description

Overview

WestRock is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join their team in Camillus, NY, focusing on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment in a corrugated packaging plant. The ideal candidate will work to ensure all machinery operates efficiently, adhering to safety regulations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair electrical faults in machinery
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain sensors and measuring instruments
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and safety procedures
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve operational issues
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and assist with new equipment installation

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in manufacturing
  • Experience with 480V three-phase systems and control voltages
  • Proficiency in electrical test equipment (multimeters, ammeters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Troubleshooting and programming skills for PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Valid Electrical license or equivalent certification
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent safety awareness and communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical certification is a plus
