An independent electrical contractor is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in residential settings. They work independently or as part of a team to ensure that electrical systems are safe, efficient, and up to code. As an independent contractor, you must have all necessary licenses, certificates, tools, vehicles and insurances necessary to complete the job. Job Requirements:Electrical tools necessary to wire and finish a house.Electrical trouble-shooting skills.Reliable transportation with active automobile insurance.Current TDLR electrical apprentice, wireman, or journeyman license.Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standardsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsPhysical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materialsAttention to detail and accuracy Preference will be extended to those with at least 100/300/100 auto coverage and a general liability policy.
