Job Description

Overview

The Immigration Law Fellowship at Vermont Law School offers a full-time position aimed at addressing immigration-related barriers to justice. The role involves working with the Center for Justice Reform Clinic and requires delivering legal services, developing projects to improve access to justice, and collaborating with various legal advocates.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver legal services to noncitizen clients
  • Develop and deliver projects to improve access to justice for low-income noncitizen Vermonters
  • Collaborate with Vermont Law and Graduate School, Vermont Legal Aid, and regional partners
  • Publicize Fellowship activities with the Vermont Bar Foundation
  • Participate in continuing legal education activities

Required skills

  • 1-4 years of relevant legal experience
  • Admission to the Vermont Bar or willingness to obtain
  • Commitment to restorative justice and immigrants' rights
  • Writing, editing, organizational, and managerial skills
  • Experience in public interest lawyering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365
  • Multilingual language skills preferred
