Job Description

Overview

The I & E Technician at Greenfield Milling is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, control, and analytical systems essential for quality product supply in their operations. This role requires strong technical skills in electrical systems and PLC programming, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Adhere to company safety work policies and operating practices.
  • Perform startup, operation, and maintenance of air separation and bulk gas delivery systems.
  • Troubleshoot shutdowns and perform corrective maintenance.
  • Coordinate scheduling and execution of planned maintenance.
  • Monitor process performance and make adjustments to remedy deviations.
  • Generate energy control plans and oversee maintenance work permits.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams.
  • Plan and execute major installations and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/DCS systems and electrical equipment.

Required skills

  • Technical degree or formal apprenticeship in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation roles
  • Knowledge of control and instrumentation systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting 4-20mA transmitters and control loops
  • Experienced with HMIs, CAD, and control logic editing
  • Ability to read engineering drawings such as P&IDs and electrical schematics
  • Familiar with safety and regulatory standards in industrial environments
  • Capable of operating forklifts and overhead cranes
