Job Description

Overview

Montgomery & Associates is seeking a full-time Hydrogeologist at the mid or senior level to join their California Team, with a focus on groundwater resource planning and environmental projects especially in Northern California and the Central Valley. This role involves managing multiple tasks and providing technical support while collaborating with team leaders, project staff, clients, and regulators.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and technically contribute to tasks and projects focusing on quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater resource management
  • Support the planning and implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA)
  • Coordinate groundwater remediation activities and monitor programs
  • Interpret lithologic, hydrologic testing, and water quality data
  • Design and interpret predictive modeling runs and support model updates
  • Evaluate hydrogeologic data gaps and develop conceptual models
  • Design and manage field investigations and implement monitoring programs
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and work plans
  • Oversee junior staff work and assist project managers with administrative duties

Required skills

  • Graduate degree in hydrology, geology, civil engineering, or environmental engineering or professional registration (P.G
  • Understanding of groundwater principles and hydrogeologic principles
  • 6 to 12 years of experience in environmental and water resource consulting
  • Task or project management experience and understanding of SGMA regulatory requirements
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with standard analytical approaches and tools
  • Technical writing skills and ability to present technical information
  • Experience with geographic information systems (ArcGIS), Survey123, SQL and Access databases
  • Knowledge of groundwater models and remediation technologies
