Overview

The Hybrid Pharmacist role at Walgreens in Columbia, Missouri involves providing pharmaceutical care while alternating between retail pharmacy locations and remote work. The pharmacist will ensure proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of medications while supporting patients with their healthcare needs through consultation and education.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management
  • Deliver pharmacy consulting services and education to patients regarding medication usage and drug interactions
  • Conduct in-person and virtual product/prescription reviews
  • Enhance the patient experience through healthcare services and wellness programs
  • Resolve customer queries and provide feedback to operations leaders
  • Support staff training and development opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with medical providers and the local healthcare community
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement procedures for inventory management and pharmacy asset protection
  • Ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and standards
  • Participate in community outreach activities and events

Required skills

  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited institution
  • Current Pharmacist license
  • Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state and federal laws
  • Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified
  • Ability to work in various environments (Centralized Services, Retail Pharmacy, etc.)
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software and technology systems
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems technology and insurance processes
