Overview

The Hybrid Pharmacist role at Walgreens involves working primarily from retail locations across Missouri, with one day a week dedicated to remote support. The pharmacist will be responsible for compounding, dispensing, and reviewing prescribed medications while providing empathetic patient consultations that involve educating patients on medication usage and drug interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, verification, and medication management.
  • Enhance patient experience through healthcare services like consultations and immunizations.
  • Resolve customer queries to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Provide centralized support for patient registration and issue resolution.
  • Conduct in-person or virtual medication reviews.
  • Support staff training and development opportunities.
  • Analyze performance data and implement procedures for inventory management.
  • Maintain relationships with medical providers and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in community outreach activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical pharmacy services.

Required skills

  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current Pharmacist license from the appropriate state authority.
  • Experience in prescription dispensing activities.
  • Knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
  • Certified Immunizer or willing to become certified within 90 days.
  • Ability to work in multiple environments (Centralized Services, Retail Pharmacy, etc.)
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy software and technology systems.
  • Time management skills for prioritizing and tracking multiple projects.
