Overview

Skol Construction Concepts is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join their team in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience and EPA Type 2 or Universal certification, with expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration, and electrical maintenance. This full-time role requires flexibility in shifts, including nights and weekends, and entails duties that include preventative maintenance and repair of restaurant-level equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair restaurant-level HVAC and refrigeration equipment
  • Service and repair 5-10-ton HVAC units, makeline tables, and walk-in coolers
  • Handle thermostats and remote equipment controllers
  • Monitor equipment to detect electrical and mechanical faults
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain equipment warranty and repair records
  • Perform mild plumbing and electrical work
  • Manage work orders and equipment tagging
  • Complete work orders promptly and prioritize critical tasks

Required skills

  • EPA Type 2 or Universal certification
  • 3 years of experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Basic computer skills for word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Clean driving record and smart device for communication
