Job Description

Overview

SJS Executives LLC is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician to join their team in Norfolk, Virginia. The ideal candidate will possess skills in disassembling, repairing, and reassembling air conditioning and refrigeration units, and must hold a Universal Certification from an EPA-approved program.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Maintain system efficiency and safety by diagnosing problems and making necessary repairs.
  • Install and connect components of refrigeration and air conditioning systems according to design specifications.
  • Charge refrigeration systems and test installations for leaks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions.
  • Stay updated on environmental laws regarding refrigerant handling.
  • Handle moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience as an HVAC Mechanic in light commercial or heavy industrial settings.
  • EPA Universal Certification from an approved certifying program.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • CPR certification (financial assistance may be provided for courses).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operating manuals.
  • Proficiency with tools and test equipment including voltmeters and pressure gauges.
  • Knowledge of guidelines and procedures for handling refrigerants.
