Job Description

Overview

The HVAC Technician at OhioHealth is responsible for advanced HVAC maintenance within a healthcare environment to ensure effective facility operations. The role involves preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and facility inspections, while also supporting other facilities personnel and projects as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform technical and specialized activities on HVAC equipment and systems
  • Inspect assigned operating equipment daily to troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment rooms
  • Conduct maintenance and adjustments of pneumatic and electric control instrumentation
  • Inspect cooling towers and analyze water composition for chemical treatment
  • Diagnose HVAC issues and perform refrigeration equipment repairs
  • Set and adjust room thermostats and air supply units for occupant comfort
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on air handling units and medical air systems
  • Operate and maintain ice machines and exhaust fan systems
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, requesting purchase orders as necessary
  • Accurately record work orders and time daily
  • Assist other trades personnel with job tasks
  • Follow all departmental safety procedures and maintain personal safety equipment
