Overview

Loyola University Maryland is seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic to join its Facilities team. The role involves installing, servicing, and repairing HVAC systems for both residential and commercial environments on the main campus. The ideal candidate will perform preventive maintenance tasks and ensure the smooth operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and repair of HVAC equipment including heat pumps and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and lubricating components.
  • Regulate and monitor HVAC control systems and air handling equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical joining of piping using welding techniques.
  • Operate and maintain HVAC tools and equipment.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal as required.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair practices.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control systems.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Skills in welding, brazing, and soldering.
