Overview

SJS Executives LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic for their operations in Norfolk, Virginia. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems, ensuring efficiency and safety in adherence to federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems
  • Check performance, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Install and connect auxiliary control mechanisms and piping or tubing
  • Charge refrigeration systems and test installations for leaks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions
  • Use a variety of tools and test equipment for HVAC maintenance
  • Follow guidelines and procedures for handling refrigerants as per regulations
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces, performing physical tasks

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience as an HVAC Mechanic in light commercial or heavy industrial settings
  • EPA Universal Certification from an approved certifying program
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • CPR certified
  • Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operational manuals
  • Proficiency in using various HVAC tools and test equipment
  • Understanding of environmental laws and regulations related to refrigerant handling
