Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation is a strategic partner responsible for aligning HR department goals with those of the Retail Support Center. This role involves consulting with management on HR-related issues, overseeing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws while promoting a positive work environment for 2nd and 3rd shift employees.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Consult with Retail Support management to provide HR guidance on employee relations.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and manage ongoing employee check-ins.
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as necessary.
  • Manage leaves of absence and worker's compensation claims.
  • Oversee benefits for employees, including orientation and life events.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • HR generalist experience in compensation, organizational development, and employee relations
  • Proven presentation, training, and consulting skills
  • Solid knowledge of investigative/interviewing techniques
  • Strong conflict management skills
