Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation plays a crucial role as a strategic partner, responsible for aligning HR goals with the overall objectives of the Retail Support Center. This position involves consulting management on HR-related issues and implementing solutions that foster a positive employee relations environment, particularly during the 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and promote Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Advise Retail Support management on HR guidance for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and conduct check-ins and stay interviews.
  • Manage recruitment for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed.
  • Oversee leaves of absence and worker's compensation claims.
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws and policies.
  • Provide benefits orientation and manage related processes for employees.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities
  • HR generalist experience with expertise in employee relations and performance management
  • Investigative and interviewing techniques
  • Strong conflict management and consulting skills
