Job Description

Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation will serve as a strategic partner in aligning HR objectives with the overall goals of the Retail Support Center. This role entails guiding management on HR-related matters, fostering employee relations, and ensuring compliance with policies and laws while supporting both 2nd and 3rd shift employees.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead support for Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Provide HR guidance to Retail Support management for 2nd and 3rd shift
  • Advise management on resolutions for employee relations issues
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Create a positive employee relations environment
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and regular check-ins for employees
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage Leave of Absences and worker's compensation claims
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws and practices
  • Administer benefits for 2nd and 3rd shift employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • HR generalist experience including compensation practices and employee relations
  • Presentation and training experience
  • Knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to address business issues
