Job Description

Overview

As a Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation, you will serve as a strategic partner responsible for aligning HR goals with the overall objectives of the Retail Support Center. This role involves consulting with management on HR-related issues, driving employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with policies and employment laws, especially for the 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and encourage Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Consult with Retail Support management on HR guidance for shifts.
  • Advise management on the resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create a positive employee relations environment and lead by example.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and other employee check-ins and interviews.
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed.
  • Manage leaves of absence and worker's compensation claims.
  • Maintain compliance with current employment laws.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.
  • HR generalist experience in various HR functions.
  • Proven presentation and training experience.
  • Strong conflict management and consulting skills.
  • Knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques.
