Job Description

Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for driving HR goals and aligning them with the Retail Support Center's overall objectives. This role includes providing HR guidance to management, conducting employee relations investigations, and fostering a positive employee relations environment, specifically during 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Consult with management to provide HR guidance on employee relations issues
  • Conduct thorough employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Create a positive employee relations environment to enhance performance
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and follow ups on new hires
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage Leave of Absences and worker's compensation claims
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and HR policies
  • Supervise HR activities for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for building effective relationships
  • Proven HR generalist experience with compensation, organizational development, and employee relations
  • Strong conflict management and consulting skills
  • Experience with investigative and interviewing techniques
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
