Job Description

Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation plays a strategic role in aligning HR department goals with those of the Retail Support Center. This position involves being a consultant to management on HR-related issues, acting as an employee champion, and fostering a positive employee relations environment for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Provide HR guidance to Retail Support management for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Advise management on employee relations issues and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage new hire orientation and check-ins for 2nd and 3rd shift employees.
  • Assist with recruiting exempt and non-exempt roles as needed.
  • Manage leaves of absence and workers' compensation claims.
  • Promote a safe and productive workplace and participate in the safety culture.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Proven generalist experience in HR including compensation practices and employee relations.
  • Strong conflict management and consulting skills.
  • Familiarity with current employment laws and investigative techniques.
