Job Description

Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation plays a crucial role in aligning HR department goals with the overall objectives of the Retail Support Center. This position involves consulting with management on HR-related matters, driving employee relations strategies, and maintaining compliance with employment laws while fostering a positive and safe work environment for employees on the 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Consult with Retail Support management to provide HR guidance on 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Advise management on resolution of employee relations issues
  • Conduct thorough employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Create a positive employee relations environment to enhance performance
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and 15/30/45-day check-ins
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage LOAs and worker's compensation claims for 2nd and 3rd shift employees
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws and policies
  • Provide benefits orientation and manage life events and open enrollment for employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • 3-5 years progressive HR experience
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • HR generalist experience in compensation practices and employee relations
  • Proven presentation and training experience
  • Solid knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to address business issues
