Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation serves as a strategic partner, overseeing HR goals in alignment with the Retail Support Center's objectives. The role includes acting as a consultant to management on HR-related issues, fostering positive employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Provide HR guidance to Retail Support management for 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Resolve employee relations issues and conduct investigations
  • Conduct new hire orientations and regular check-ins for employees
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage leaves of absence and worker's compensation claims
  • Ensure compliance with current employment laws
  • Oversee employee benefits and orientations for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build effective relationships
  • Demonstrated HR generalist experience
  • Strong conflict management and consulting skills
  • Experience with investigative and interviewing techniques
  • Ability to multitask and work in high-pressure environments
