Job Description

Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation serves as a strategic partner, responsible for aligning HR department goals with the overall objectives of the Retail Support Center. This role involves consulting management on HR matters, providing employee relations support, and driving initiatives to foster a positive employee environment, particularly for the 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Consult with management to provide HR guidance for 2nd and 3rd shift operations
  • Advise management on resolving employee relations issues
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and check-ins for employees
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage leaves of absence and worker's compensation claims
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Provide benefits orientation and support for new hires
  • Promote a safe and productive workplace

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years progressive HR experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships
  • Successful HR generalist experience and knowledge of compensation practices
  • Experience in organizational development and employee relations
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws
  • Proven experience in training and presentation
  • Solid investigative and interviewing skills
  • Effective conflict management skills
