Overview

The Human Resources Supervisor at Ace Hardware Corporation in Galloway, Ohio, is tasked with leading HR initiatives aligned with the Retail Support Center's objectives. This role involves acting as a consultant for management on various HR issues, including employee relations, compliance, and recruitment, while fostering a positive work environment and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork
  • Consult with management to provide HR guidance for 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Advise management on resolution of employee relations issues
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Create a positive employee relations environment
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation and follow-up check-ins
  • Recruit for exempt and non-exempt roles as needed
  • Manage Leave of Absence and worker's compensation claims
  • Provide benefits orientation and support for employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • PHR/SPHR certification desirable
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • HR generalist experience
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compliance
  • Presentation and training experience
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Consulting and investigative skills
