Overview

Rachel Contracting is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support its operations in St. Michael, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will lead HR initiatives, focusing on building strong teams, improving processes, and driving organizational success, while also ensuring compliance and enhancing employee relations.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily human resources operations including employee relations, benefits administration, payroll coordination, onboarding, and compliance
  • Serve as a trusted resource and advisor to leadership and employees regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Oversee employee onboarding and orientation programs
  • Administer employee benefit programs including enrollments, changes, and claims assistance
  • Partner with payroll and operations teams for accurate employee data management
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Support performance management initiatives and workforce development programs
  • Assist with recruiting efforts and candidate screening
  • Collaborate with auditors on union audits and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in HR operations
  • Support company culture initiatives that promote teamwork and employee retention

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in construction or contracting
  • Experience in payroll and benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Team-oriented mindset for effective collaboration
